My name is Frank Miller. I am a full-time professional photographer in Salem, Oregon.
Originally I’m from Iowa (it happens) and there have been a lot of stops in between there and here. But I really like it here and hope to stay.
I work for a small liberal-arts college, taking photos and shooting video. You may remember applying for college and receiving 40 pounds of paper in the mail?
That’s me. Or at least, the photos are.
So I’m pretty lucky; I take photos for a living. People see them. And for the most part they like them. After working as a photographer, first as a newspaper photojournalist, now this, for most of my life… I feel like I can actually say that I’m pretty good at what I do.
While I love my day job (most days at least) it’s not really why I became a photographer.
I became a photographer to emulate my heroes (we’ll talk about them later) and to do my own work.
Why? Well.. let’s talk about that later too.
But for now, this is just a hello and the beginning of a conversation.
